"A" Family

Children bring me joy.
I love that I grew up working with children through 4-H and church.
I love that I spent 4 years at K-State gaining knowledge to become a teacher.
I love that I get to spend each day with children who are eager to learn in my classroom.
I love that one day I will have children of my own.
I love that children bring me joy.

Our school holds an annual auction to raise money,
and each teacher has a "Gift of Time" up for sell.
The teachers choose a way to spend extra time with a student outside of school.
Some choose bowling, going out for ice cream, or making a craft for those in need.
This year, I chose to spend time with a family at a photo session in the park.
It was so much fun to spend a little extra time with one of my students,
and get to know the family outside of the classroom setting.
Here are my favorites from our Gift of Time.

Rusco Family

My husband and I both grew up in small-town Kansas,
so when we say we know everyone in our hometowns,
it really-truly means that we know everyone.
Not only do we know everyone,
but we can recite who is related to who,
the landmark in which you turn to head to the local grocery store,
and all the latest gossip on who's either sick or pregnant.
Living in Dallas, I must say that I do miss the small-town talk!

So when we went home for Christmas,
it wouldn't be complete without a catch-up session with all of our besties!

The Ruscos are near and dear friends of ours, now just down the street,
and I enjoyed every minute of catching up with them!
The boys are both grown and married, with families of their own.
We spent an evening playing shuffleboard (this young man knows how to play!),
and a cold morning in the snow taking family pictures!

Baby K, On the Way!

With a busy little gal anxiously awaiting her baby Valentine,
this family of 3+ One met up with me for some
sun in the park on a gorgeous January weekend.
I love a session when the clients are up for anything with a smile on their face...
stand here, sit there, lay down, hold here, do this, do that...
Turned out to be a great session!

Here is my string of favorites...
LOVING the bridge, with a pop of color here and there!

Big Sis is waiting in her pink
for that precious little Valentine to arrive!

Celebration - Brandon & Lindsay

A big celebration for engagement was in store this weekend.
Friends and family gathered from near and far
to celebrate the love between these two love birds!
Drinks, food, KSU basketball, conversations, introductions,
dancing, tall boots, and crazy socks were all in store for this fun evening!

Congratulations,
Brandon & Lindsay!
Only a few more months until Mr. and Mrs. Damas are official...
can't wait to celebrate the big day!

Anniversary - Nathan + Ashlee

Nathan and I met through our church youth group many years ago.
When he asked if I would take pictures of he and his wife,
it didn't seem possible that he was old enough to be married!
I met Ashlee, and it was immediate that I understood why he chose her...
such an outgoing, carefree, fun-loving, and just your All-American gal!

They told me the story of how they met,
and the joy that six years of marriage has brought to them!
Yes, six!
Congratulations you two love birds!! :)

Never having had official wedding pictures taken,
it was a beautiful day to head out for some formals,
followed by some fun on the farm.
