Friends Forever {Sneak Peek}

When asked to capture the friendship of these four high school kiddos,
I was excited for the opportunity of creativity!
When the first shot of the session came out like this,
I knew it was going to be a great day!

 ...BUT...

Then they come out dressed like this after a clothing change,
and I couldn't believe my camera actually captured such a bird of red & blue colors...

More to come,
but only those pictures without "crimson & blue"...ha!

I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas

It's Christmas Eve!

Santa has been to deliver gifts, stuff stockings, eat cookies, drink milk, and gobble up reindeer food.

We're off to bed,

Where We Are Dreaming...

...of a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!

Where the treetops glisten...

and uncles in waders help Daddy make snowmen!

(We adults added our own twist to Frosty for his buttons...)

My handsome husband and I!

And it's back in to the warmth,
for more traditions, food, family, drinks,
and of course, photo editing for me!

Merry Christmas To All,
And To All A Good Night!

Cline Family

A Christmas spent with cousins.
This is one of the many reasons to love the holidays!
I remember being young and counting down the days until I got
to see my cousins, who were like my brothers and sisters!
It's always so exciting to put a spin on a photo session.

Spiffed up and so classy,

but there's always an excuse for dog piling!

A message to Momsie and Pop Pop from the grandkids...

And teensie pictures too...

All for Momsie and Pop Pop,

who absolutely LOVED their gifts!

Grandparents and grandchildren,
Together they create a chain of love
Linking the past,
With the future.
The chain may lengthen,
But it will never part.

Sumner Family

A family full of ornery little boys,
but tickle monsters and giggles galore!
I couldn't help but continually click, click, click,
for this is what was in store!

One gives up to stay behind,

for others, the silliness comes out!

Curiosity and

growth,

and hugs!

Such sweet boys,

with such sweet smiles!

Steps To Warming An Image - Before & After

Using Photoshop CS5,
I was able to take a photo that looked like this...

And warm it up into this...

Here are the steps that I took to get the final image:

1. Unlocked the background layer.

2. Duplicated the layer and used the "healing tool" to get rid of the runny
nose and some red blotches. I wanted to leave some redness to make it more
"real" for the family when they look back.

3. Raised Exposure and Lowered Gamma Correction to change the lighting.

4. For the warmer colors, I duplicated the layer and covered it with an
orangey color, then changed the blending to "soft light".
I then changed the opacity to a lower percentage.

5. Changed the adjustment in the Curves layer to
take some of the shadows from his eyes.

6. Added a Photo Filter of a warm color.

7. Duplicated a layer and covered with with black,
then again changed the blending to "soft light".
Using the eraser tool, I gave it a vignette appearance with black on the edges.

Must Share Moment - Christmas Idea!

I got a phone call from a friend this week
who had an amazing idea!
She is doing the "12 Days of Christmas"
for her husband, and decided that day 4
would be a picture of her for his office desk.
So with a mini session of just a few minutes,
we captured some great shots for her to choose from!
I think I may have to steal this idea for next year!
